Teatr Atelier im. Agnieszki Osieckiej powstał w Sopocie w 1989 roku.
Założycielem i dyrektorem Teatru jest niemiecki reżyser i aktor André Ochodlo.
Dziś jest postrzegany za jedną z najznamienitszych sopockich instytucji artystycznych. Corocznie odbywa się tu LATO TEATRALNE SOPOT, podczas którego prezentowane są projekty dramatyczne oraz muzyczne w wykonaniu wybitnych artystów zarówno z Polski jak i zagranicy.
Od paru lat Teatr Atelier im. Agnieszki Osieckiej w Sopocie współpracuje z Teatrem im. Adama Mickiewicza w Częstochowie. W rezultacie powstały spektakle dramatyczne prezentowane na obu scenach: w Sopocie i Częstochowie.
