Denmark is a very flat country. But there are small hills to be found, if you look hard for them!
This cache is not hard to find. It is placed on a hill in the "Forest Garden" created by the "folkehøjskole" Egmont Højskolen in the small town of Hou, south of Århus, Denmark. It is possible to park in front of the swimming-facility called Vandhalla, which is connected to the high-school. Follow the signs......
The cache is placed in the Insect Hotel in our "forrest garden/skovhave". Students and teachers are working to create a place where you can relax and enjoy the plants and surroundings. And also to create a good biotope for insects and other animals, increasing biodiversity in these troubled times. This forrest garden has now been officially opened, and you are welcome to visit it. Read more about it here.

Egmont Højskolen was founded in 1956 as a school with a special responsibility towards people with disabilities. Today most students are non-disabled, but about 1/3 of the students has a disability of some kind. The school is unique in Denmark and maybe in the world for having a caretaker-system in which the non-disabled students help the disabled students, so that the latter have a chance of getting a rich experience during their stay at the high-school - in spite of their disability. The non-disabled students are paid for this work but all the youngsters at the school are students on equal terms.
In connection with the school there is a swimming-facility called Vandhalla. The construction of this was completed in 2013 and during this work we were horrified to discover, that it would cost several million danish kroner to have soil transported away from the site to make room for the building, the swimmingpools etc. So we decided to create a hill instead.

If you have time to spare, it is possible to see probably the biggest "mural/vægmaleri" in Denmark, called "Stakkarle". It measures 80 m2 and can be found in a special room in the building connected to Vandhalla. It depicts a kind of "social history" of the world, a world history with focus on the poor, the oppressed and the disabled people of the world. You are allowed to see it for free. Enter the main entrance to Vandhalla and Egmont Højskolen and turn right. Ask someone if you get lost and behave sensibly, not creating too much noise and not touching the painting. If you have the time and desire it might be possible for you to have an introduction to the painting by the owner of this cache - if I have spare time and energy to do it.
Feel free to call or text me on +45 61 30 93 36, I live 400 meters from the site.
