The Hank Aaron State Trail is a work in progress. The Virtual
Cache encompasses most of the beginnings of this trail. The trail
is one of the more positive outcomes of the contentious battle to
build a new ballpark in Milwaukee.
At the first waypoint (see Coordinates above), tell me what was
the minor league city that Hank Aaron first played AND what
position did Aaron play for the Milwaukee Brewers. Then go to the
next waypoint at N43'1.745 W87'57.951 and tell me the price of the
Lower Grandstand 1958 World Series ticket. Next, go to N43'1.707
W87'57.950 and tell me what the banner says (held up by the
celebating fans). Next, head over to N43'1.669 W87'57.952 and tell
me what the words along the bottom of the sign say.
Finally, go down the nearby steps or bike down along the 2
nearby access paths to the trail itself (the trail is paved but be
careful going down to the river: there are rocks). The trail isn't
much now but it will eventually run along the river all the way to
the lakefront near the Summerfest grounds. It will hopefully herald
a new rebirth for the Milwaukee/Menomonee River system. Update
(2006): the trail now goes all the way to 6th Street completely off
road (although you do have to cross several roads)
Go to what was, in 2002, the Eastern terminus of the trail at
N43'1.482 W87'57.765. Here is where the milk comes in. Can you tell
me what Milk has to do with this waypoint?
