Cache Beta is hidden off of the Seaton Hiking Trail in Pickering. A very scenic location, but watch out, the trail can be rough at times and may be difficult with small children in tow!
Cache Beta is a medium sized tupperware container made of clear plastic with a white lid. As mentioned above it's hidden off of the seaton Hiking Trail in the Pickering Area.
Parking for this trail can be found at N43°52.1636' W079°07.8870', and the trail entrance is down the road slightly at N43°52.1583' W079°07.8387'
There are a number of cut offs to the trail, the most direct route to the cache is to stay on the main trail that follows the contour of the river (and crosses it!)
Beware the river ford though, as it can be slippery and hazardous! Hang on to the kiddies while crossing!
The cache will be found withing a clearing in the midst of a circle of trees. It is close to the drop off above the river, so once again, be cautious.
One final note: This is our second cache, and with the first we discovered some discrepancies in using our little yellow Etrex to obtain the hiding coordinates. We were much more careful this time and have averaged the waypoint over a series of several readings, however, this is my first time trying this averaging thing, so if you find a discrepancy, please let me know, or add a note with your log! Thanks!
