Geocache Description:

A good excuse to wander the 22 acres of Valleyford Park.

This cache is a two-part multicache with a twist. Credit for the idea goes to Portland geocacher 'explosis' who used it in his 'Free Bus' cache (GC5F24). It does require some skills not normally needed in geocaching! I think kids will like this one. Best to do it when it's not raining or snowy, though.

Valleyford Park is about 10 miles south of Spokane on the Palouse Highway, and has a neat hiking area featuring a marshy 'lowland' and a pine forest 'highland'. There used to be a cool log bridge across California Creek when the cache was hidden, but it's gone now. If you attempt to access this cache from the parking lot you'll probably have to do a fair bit of bushwhacking since the trails are not being maintained. There is another, easier entrance to the area, though... Less than a mile hike overall.
