#6.1 - KTU vertikalus saulės laikrodis, 2006. Jonas Navikas ir KTU bendruomenė, Studentų g. 48A
Aprašas
2006 metų rugsėjo 25 dieną visuomenei buvo pristatytas didžiausias vertikalus saulės laikrodis Lietuvoje. Laikrodžio linijų plotas yra 30 kv. metrų, o paties laikrodžio dydis – 9x9 metrų, maksimalus gnonomo (saulės laikrodžio rodyklės) šešėlio ilgis – 8,33 metrų. Šalia pastatyta ir lentelė, kiekvienam susidomėjusiajam padėsianti suprasti saulės laikrodžio ir mechaninio laikrodžių rodomo laiko paklaidą, vadinama laiko lygties grafiku.
ĮDOMU: šis saulės laikrodis simboliškai ženklina Kauno technologijos universitetą, nes rodo pirmąjį žmogaus sukurtą prietaisą pasinaudojus gamta. Kažkada saulės laikrodis buvo vienintelis visiems prieinamas ir sąlyginai lengvai pagaminimas laiko matavimo prietaisas, o įvairūs technologijomis paremti prietaisai, skirti laikui matuoti, buvo prabangos ir statuso ženklas. Šiandien – viskas atvirkščiai: Saulės laikrodis jau tampa išskirtinumo ir net rafinuotumo požymiu – galbūt dėl šios priežasties jis ir populiarėja.

#6.2 - „Perkūnas“, 1967. Juozas Ruzgas, Studentų g. 50

Šalia KTU Elektronikos rūmų (buv. Radiolektronikos) pagrindinio įėjimo įrengtas baseinas su žalvarine Perkūno skulptūra. Senovės dievybė, rankoje laikanti žaibą, yra tarsi elektrotechniškųjų fakultetų simbolis, susiejantis senovės tradicinę kultūrą su šiuolaikine technologine civilizacija.
ĮDOMU: šios skulptūros autorius visada save laikė Lietuvos patriotu. Studijuodamas buvo įkūręs net mažą pogrindinę grupelę, turėjo ginklų ir šovinių. Tiesa, su partizanais taip ir nepavyko susisiekti. Sovietmečiu skulptorius buvo sekamas, tačiau jam sekėsi gerai, nes niekas daugiau ant pastatų fasadų nedarė didelių kompozicijų. Todėl ir didelės konkurencijos nebuvo. Menininkas prisimena, kaip teko kovoti dėl pagoniško „Perkūno“. „Pažinojau architektus, todėl išdrįsau pasiūlyti tais laikais drąsią idėją. Protokole buvo pažymėta, jog skulptūra vaizduos žmogų, laikantį žaibus. Gavome leidimą, o tada jau buvo vėlu ką nors pakeisti – „Perkūnas“ atsirado studentų miestelyje.“

Statybos fakulteto auditorijos korpuso fasadą puošia dekoratyvinė vyro ir moters kompozicija iš plieno juostų. Prieš kuriant skulptūra, buvo sukurtas realaus dydžio eskizas. Kūrinys atspindi 7 – ajame dešimtmetyje buvusią reikšmingą mokslo ir pažangos temą.
ĮDOMU: tuomet, kai buvo statomas studentų miestelis, 5 procentai statybos lėšų būdavo skiriami menui.

Next to it is a table, which will help everyone interested to understand the error of the time displayed by the sundial and mechanical clocks, called the graph of the time equation.
INTERESTING: this sundial symbolically marks Kaunas University of Technology, as it shows the first man-made device using nature. Once upon a time, the sundial was the only time measuring device available to everyone and relatively easy to manufacture, and various technology-based devices for measuring time were a sign of luxury and status. Today, the opposite is true: the sundial is already becoming a sign of exclusivity and even sophistication - perhaps that is why it is gaining popularity.

# 6.2 - "Thunder", 1967. Juozas Ruzgas, Studentų st. 50
Description
Next to the main entrance of KTU Electronics Palace (formerly Radiolektronika) there is a swimming pool with a brass Thunder sculpture. The ancient deity holding lightning in its hand is like a symbol of electrotechnical faculties, linking ancient traditional culture with modern technological civilization.
INTERESTING: the author of this sculpture has always considered himself a patriot of Lithuania. While studying, he had even formed a small underground group, had weapons and ammunition. True, the partisans could not be contacted. During the Soviet era, the sculptor was followed, but he did well, as no one else made large compositions on the facades of the buildings. Therefore, there was no significant competition. The artist remembers how he had to fight for the pagan "Thunder". “I knew the architects, so I dared to offer a bold idea at the time. It was noted in the minutes that the sculpture will depict a man holding lightning. We got permission, and then it was too late to change anything - "Thunder" appeared on the campus. "

Description
The facade of the building of the auditorium of the Faculty of Civil Engineering is decorated with a decorative composition of a man and a woman made of steel strips. Before creating the sculpture, a life-size sketch was created. The work reflects an important theme of science and progress in the 1970s.
INTERESTING: When the campus was being built, 5 percent of the construction money was spent on art.
