Geocache Description:

Curling has alway been a passion in the Lenore area with a 2 sheet natural ice rink. These were kept busy for many years with regular and smaller bonspiels. Unfortunately, as farm size grew and travel to rinks with artificial ice became easier, there weren't enough curlers to continue with regular curling. The weather is and has always been a big part of the bonspiel week just about every year. Although this can make for some interesting ice conditions, most curlers take it in stride. We can't talk about the Lenore Bonspiel without mentioning Chic's place. The unique atmosphere of the wood burning stove, the soft old old couches and the large crowd make going to Chic's a "Lenore only" experience. The house got its name from the last person to live there, Donald "Chic" Ross. Chic liked to curl and would invite friends back to his house for a visit. As years went on, his friends became just about everybody at the bonpsiel. In July 1981 Chic passed away and his house was donated to act as a club house for the rink.
