For at least 39 years Tuckahoe has hosted a Canoe/Kayak race launched from this site or near this site. In 2020 the event was canceled due to the pandemic. Looks as if there may not be a race in 2021 either.
Even so, you can visit this normally serene and quiet spot on the Tuckahoe River. Paved access road leads you to within walking distance of the hide. This is a public beach maintained by the local community, but it doesn't seem to be used very much except by some weekend anglers. Muggles shouldn't be a problem, but if a car or two is in the parking area, proceed with stealth.
