On one of our many trips to hike the canyons of southern Utah, we added The Citadel to our list of successful adventures.
Currently the trail takes you over the edge (trust THIS cairn!) and around the point to get to the causeway to the ruins. The cache is located where the trail drops down and where you first see the causeway leading you to the ruins.
The Citadel lives up to its name. The ruin is perched in a dramatic position overlooking Road Canyon. It's easy to imagine the inhabitants using it as a lookout of for defense. Even the hike to visit it is dramatic, across a narrow ridge.
