All but one of the caches placed at James Baird StatePark are named after colleges in the surrounding area. Vassar College is located in Poughkeepsie, NY. The college opened in 1865 and offered young women an education in the liberal arts. In 1969, the college became coeducational and is considered one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country.
