Welcome to Olana! This was the home and studio of artist Fredrick Edwin Church (1826-1900), who was one of the major figures in the Hudson River School of landscape painting. Here you'll find the centerpiece mansion which overlooks parkland and a working farm designed by the artist. The residence has a wide view of the Hudson River Valley, the Catskill Mountains and the Taconic Range.
While checking out the cache, also check out the picture of Fredric Church's "Winter Twilight from Olana" done around 1871-2 inside. However, please leave it in the cache and do not take it with you.
