Esta área de descanso se sitúa en media de la dehesa salmantina, junto al rio huebra.
La Dehesa Salmantina es un bosque formado principalmente por encinas y especies de ribera, con estrato inferior de pastizales, donde la actividad del ser humano ha sido intensa y están destinados al mantenimiento del ganado vacuno, ovino y porcino principalmente. Cubre gran parte de la provincia de Salamanca y es el hábitat idóneo para la cría del cerdo ibérico del que se elabora el mejor jamón ibérico.
El rio Huebra nace junto a Pico Cervero, en la Sierra de las Quilamas (Salamanca). Recorre la dehesa salmantina y junto al río Yeltes vierte sus aguas en el Duero, aguas abajo de la presa de Saucelle, en las Arribes frente a Portugal.

This rest area is located in the middle of the “Dehesa de Salamanca” (pasture), next to the Huebra river.
The “Dehesa de Salamanca” is a forest formed mainly by holm oaks and riverbank species, with a lower layer of grasslands, where human activity has been intense and they are mainly used for the maintenance of cattle: cows sheep and pigs. It covers a large part of the province of Salamanca and is the ideal habitat for raising the Iberian pig from which the best Iberian ham is made.
The Huebra river is born next to Pico Cervero, in the Sierra de las Quilamas (Salamanca). It runs through the Salamanca pasture and together with Yeltes river it pours its waters into the Duero, downstream from the Saucelle dam, in the Arribes opposite Portugal.
