Spy Run Creek sounds redundant, doesn't it. It probably is, but that is the name of the creek that empties here into the St. Marys River. The creek starts somewhere north of Ludwig Road in Allen County and flows in a southerly direction through Franke Park, Vesey Park and Lawton Park before it meets the St. Marys. From here, the St. Marys flow southeasterly to meet the St. Joseph River to form the Maumee River, which flows in a east-northeast direction to Toledo and Lake Erie.
I have seen turtles and herons, ducks and geese on the Spy Run both here at Lawton Park and in Franke Park.
