Welkom op de Hollandse Kade.

De Hollandse Kade is aangelegd om ontginningen te begrenzen en water uit andere polders te weren. Langs de kade aangeplante geriefbosjes leverden brandhout en stelen voor gereedschap. De waterkering is nu vooral geliefd als fiets- en wandelpad. Vogels en kleine zoogdieren vinden er een waardevolle nest- en schuilplaats. Aan de zuidzijde van de kade ligt polder Klein Houtdijk, aan de noordzijde polder Teckop. Deze laatste polder is een restontginning, wat goed te zien is aan haar onregelmatige percelen.

Welcome to the Hollandse Kade.

The Hollandse Kade was constructed to limit reclamation and to keep water out of other polders. Groceries planted along the quay provided firewood and handles for tools. The flood defense is now particularly popular as a cycling and walking path. Birds and small mammals find valuable nesting and hiding places. The Klein Houtdijk polder is located on the south side of the quay and the Teckop polder on the north side. This last polder is a residual exploitation, which is clearly visible in its irregular plots.
