Garameki is the name of a hot spring.
After World War II, the whole area at the foot of Sōmagatake was confiscated as the Sōmahara Garrison, and the hot spring facilities were evacuated.
Today, only a few stone walls remain, and the tepid source of water, which may or may not be 30 degrees Celsius, is still boiling.
ガラメキとは温泉の名前です。
この温泉地は明治時代に開かれ賑わっていた温泉地でした。
しかし二次世界大戦後、相馬ヶ岳山麓一帯が相馬原駐屯地として接収され温泉施設は立ち退く事となった。
現在はわずかに石垣が残り、30℃あるかないかのぬるい源泉が沸いているのみです。

キャッシュまでの道のりは平坦ですが一か所小さな川を渡ります。
増水時でなければ石を使って渡りきる事ができます。
