The Sunshine Coast City Council and the Coolum Common Project/Coolum Community Garden Committee have been kind enough to help plan a CITO event at Jones Parade Park. Jones Parade Park is an Amenity Park with only trees and a little section of a community vegetable garden for the children in the area. It's also adjacent to Casia Wildlife Corridor.
Some jobs for the day will be cleaning up the area, setting up the garden beds, pulling up weeds, planting and distributing mulch. Depending on the number of attendance, we could pick up some rubbish in the Casia Wildlife Corridor as well.
Instructions will be made at the beginning of the event, please be on time. All materials will be provided by the Council but you are also welcome to bring your own tools.
From the Council: "I’ve attached a sheet with the main weeds we’d like the group to focus on the day. It will be best if the weeds are dug out by loosening the soil around the base and removing as much of the roots as possible.

I can coordinate with our depots to make sure there is a load of mulch and some large white ‘weed storage’ bags and rubbish collection bins for your members on the day. We can also provide wheel barrows and mulch forks to help distribute the mulch to the various garden beds, as well as some hand tools if the group needs any extras. It would be great if anyone attending could also bring their own hand gardening tools if they have them, just so there’s enough to go around on the day."
Please wear sun-safe clothing, bring adequate drinking water, wear fully enclosed shoes and bring a pair of gardening gloves for your personal use.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Kids are also welcome, (parents are expected to supervise them).
Please indicate in your log if you are new in geocaching so we can help you on the day.
All current QLD Health COVID restrictions will be met for the event.
