Our 2nd cache in Skyline Regional Park, this short, heart-pumping hike is one of our favorite ways to end any of the surrounding loops. We consider this "family friendly" as at the time of placing, our Kinder and 3rd grader hike with ease, generally racing the .15 climb to the top. They've been hiking it since they were toddlers, so please take the kiddos and bring swag because we've filled our cache with fun things just for them! 👧🏻👦🏻
We also suggest planning your trip in time to summit at Sunrise or Sunset. The views are hard to beat and you'll likely forget about your heart beating in your ears as you take in the sights of Skyline as well as the White Tanks and a peek into Buckeye. Truly beautiful!
As you explore the summit, searching for our cache, please beaware of who really really owns Watson Overlook as this area is most frequently visited by our friends the geckos 🦎, Chuckwallas, spiders 🕷️, bees 🐝, bats 🦇, and our personal fav scorpions 🦂! After we've taken in a sunset, we love to take our girls scorpion hunting with a few blacklights as a reminder to always share the trails and keep a lookout for those that best adapt to their desert surroundings 🏜️.
Let the name of the cache be your guide as you have a ROCK'n good time! Have fun and happy Caching!
