Edos Mack verkade under åren 1956 – 2018 invid gamla Godbyvägen i Mariehamn. Macken var en servicestation i ordets verkliga bemärkelse. När någon bil stannade vid macken kom Sven eller hans bror Åke Karlsson genast ut; hjälpte till med att fylla på bensin, kollade oljan och bytte gummin i vindrutetorkarbladen om så önskades. Gav personlig service utöver det vanliga. På macken såldes inga tidningar, läsk eller godis, men meckar-intresserade ungdomar kunde känna sig välkomna och få hjälp där det behövdes. Mackens interiör var oförändrad under 50 år, och där skrivbordsstolen stod hade golvet fått djupa fåror... Fortfarande år 2018 använde Sven och Åke en Ericsson bakelittelefon med fingerskiva, inga onödiga nymodigheter tog plats i denna lokal. Sven gick bort i oktober 2018 och efter detta tog talkokrafter vid och huset med inventarier flyttades år 2019 till Geta Nostalgi & Motor där det får leva kvar som den orörda tidskapsel det är.

Edos´ petrolstation worked during 1956-2018 in Mariehamn. The station was a service station in the true sense of the word. When a car stopped at the gasstation, Sven or his brother Åke Karlsson came immediately offering help with refuel, checked the oil or changed the rubber in the windscreen wiper blades if desired. No newspapers, drinks or sweets were for sale here, but young people interested in motors could feel welcome and got help where it was needed. The interior in the little building was unchanged for 50 years, and you could see deep marks in the floor made from the desk chair...The brothers used still in 2018 an oldfashioned bakelite phone; unnecessary novelties was nothingfor this place. After the death of Sven in Oct 2018 the business was closed down. The building with all its interior was moved to the museum Geta Nostalgi & Motor and now it can be seen here as the untouced time capsule it is.
