This footpath is waymarked from the Coast Road opposite to the entrance to the Old Radar Station. It appears to go from nowhere to nowhere. However, originally, it split off from the Coastal footpath and followed the line of the drive to the Radar Station. This part is disused, although Potters Resort have incorporated it into a woodland walk. The Radar Station was built in World War 2, but was decommissioned, and has been privately owned since 2000. The site is all that remains of a village called Newton, which was lost to the sea in 1350, and only the church was left until the sixteenth century when that was also lost. Ruins of the church were visible until the nineteenth century. It is believed that the villagers moved to Corton.
The footpath goes across a field and passes across the old Lowestoft to Yarmouth railway track. then acroos another field untill it reaches the A47 dual carriageway. It follows the Norfolk/Suffolk county boundary. I recommend that you retrace your steps, as a route along the A47 is dangerous, and following round the edge of the field to Longfullens lane is technically trespassing
Bring your own pen and tweezers might be useful.
