The graves of the 49
During the latter part of the 19th century and the beginning of the of the 20th, Fáskrúðsfjörður was one of the main outposts of French seamen on the coast of Iceland.
This cemetery contains the known graves of 49 French and Belgian sailors.
Please respect this place and act accordingly.
