אולם מהר מאוד התברר שהכמות בשדה הנפט קטנה ולא משמעותית
הפקת הנפט בכמויות קטנות נמשכה עד לפני שנים אחדות ואז הופסקה והקידוחים ננטשו
המטמון נמצא על גבעה קטנה המשקיפה על האזור, עם נוף יפה לשדות מסביב
