Geocache Description:

A great view most people overlook. The desert is almost untouched here in the middle of civilization. It's almost like a reverse oasis! Cache is a 7.62x69mm ammo can (hopefully) hidden where only Geocachers can find it. The rocks are quite sharp, but most of the path is just fine. Position updated 12/13/02. Fixed using WAAS averaging for ten minutes, EPE 10'.

A scrambling we will go! Well, if you approach from the east, that is. It's much more fun that way.
The cache originally contained:
  • A cool filter for your coffee maker
  • New putty knife/scraper
  • large God Bless America sticker
  • Pack of Cranberry Jelly Bellies from the Jelly Belly Fan Club
  • New emergency poncho
  • Plastic ruler (in good shape, found on trail, so we converted trash to cache!)
  • Logbook and pencil

This is our favorite of the Pueblo caches. Beware of sharp rocks and vegetation. Do not attempt this cache after 11pm! Also, since the cache is in a green ammo box, please be discrete as there is a school nearby. We don't want to raise any unwarranted suspicion.

We had a report from a dogwalker of a bees' nest in the area near some yuccas. Please bee careful; they're apparently africanized.

There have been news reports of mutilated cats in the vicinity of this park. Be on the lookout for any suspicious activity! Please ignore the photos below the description! I thought I was adding them to the Gallery and apparently was not. For some reason, it's not letting me delete them right now. Will file bug report and fix when possible.
