Come join the Maryland Geocaching Society at Masonville Cove for a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event on Sunday, July 11 from 9:00am to 11am. A rain date of July 31 is in place in the event of inclement weather. The listed coordinates will lead you to the parking area by the campus entrance where we will meet with a Masonville Cove staff member. This is an excellent opportunity to give back to Mother Earth by picking up trash and helping with trail maintenance at the nation’s first Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT THROUGH THE MASONVILLE COVE WEBSITE (https://www.masonvillecove.org/event-info/geocaching-cache-in-trach-out-cito-event). If you do not register through the website, you may not be allowed to participate.
Located in South Baltimore, Masonville Cove is the nation's first Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership, home to a green building environmental education center and beautiful waterfront public trails. Come and explore this hidden gem of Baltimore City! Learn more at masonvillecove.org.
Schedule
We will be assisting the park staff with light trash pickup, or possibly some trail maintenance and plan to have a picnic on the picnic tables by the environmental education center.
Parking
Parking is available in front of the environmental education center. If parking fills up, there will be additional parking behind the trailers located on the other side of the parking lot (there will be signs directing parking). Masonville Cove's address is 1000 Frankfurst Ave, Baltimore, MD 21226.
What to bring
Trash bags will be provided. You may wish to consider bringing handy items such as gardening gloves, old sturdy sneakers or knee boots, bug/tick spray, handi-grabbers, food for the picnic, and plenty of drinking water.
