The wall at the listed coordinates consists of a series of gabions connected and stacked.
A gabion is simply a container or basket that is filled with material, typically stone but sometimes bagged earth, sand, etc.
Gabion walls are used mostly in civil engineering to create retaining walls or protect areas of land vulnerable to erosion. Gabions are also becoming increasingly popular in gardens too, often on a much smaller scale, combining practical and decorative purposes.
Tweezers, pin, etc. highly recommended.
I tried to make retrieving the log finger-friendly, but failed - sorry!
You do not need to bend any wire or start excavating under any stones to retrieve this cache.
When replacing the lid, finger-tight only please, snug enough to form a firm seal but not so tight as to deform the seal or break the weak plastic threads, thanks.
Please replace entire cache:
- securely so that it can't fall out
- with the lid not visible, i.e., pointing inwards and hidden
- with the lid facing downwards
(any angle below the horizontal, just to help prevent water getting in)
Thanks :)
