Please replace the cache out of sight.
This is just one of several entrances into Beckenham Place Park. You are looking for a magnetic micro.
The BPP caches have been placed by four cache owners to hopefully give geocachers a variety of caches of differing size and difficulty (although none of them should be too tricky to look for) in this wonderful park.
Beckenham Place Park is the largest green space in Lewisham. There is a lot of history here and it is part of the Green Chain Walk and Capital Ring. From 1907 much of the land was given over to a golf course (in 1929 this became the first municipally owned course in England). The golf course was closed in 2016 and in 2019 the park was regenerated at the cost of £6.8 million. The park features ancient woodland, a newly constructed lake which offers open air swimming, sensory garden, a Grade II listed mansion house, play areas, BMX track and much more.
The park is separated in two by a railway line. Most of the regeneration has been on the West side. The East side will be developed in the near future.
Car Parking is available within the park at a cost of £2 an hour from 8am-5pm. Free parking can be found on some nearby streets. The nearest stations are Beckenham Hill, Ravensbourne and Beckenham Junction.
Cache placed with the kind permission of Lewisham Council.
