The Series

Do you love mystery caches?  Do you love D/T (Difficulty/Terrain) ratings?  if so, we have a GREAT series for you!!!

The Jackson County Agritourism Geo-Trail 81 series (JCAT-81) has been placed for YOU! We do have to fess up that the series isn’t actually in Jackson County, but it’s a stone’s throw away and an awesome set of caches.  If you complete all 81, you will have completed an entire D/T grid. Total fizzy awesomeness!

The majority of the caches are hidden in Sandy Creek Park.  There is an entrance fee of $2 per person to enter.  Current park hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, closed on Mondays. (Note: Hours can change-- please check with the park before making your trip plans)

The caches are hidden in a variety of containers and styles.  The puzzles will help build your puzzle-solving skills.  Be on the lookout for some JCAT-81 Puzzle-Solving events where we will help you solve some of the tougher ones.

This series is a collaborative effort of “The Puzzle Posse”!  The Puzzle Posse consists of Bragger407, GeoMonkeyTiger!, LaFavorite Cacher, and poeanne.

The Cache

This cache is rated a 3.0/4.5.  The physical find will be a good bit easier than the puzzle!! This one not only requires a hike, but may require wading after heavy rains!  Good luck!!

The Puzzle!

(This puzzle is brought to you by poeanne)

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates!

Old MacDonald had a farm.  E!!  I!! E!!! I!! O!!!
And on this farm, he had many animals- they loved to talk!
Here, there, everywhere he’d walk-walk!

So, one fine day, he set out to see
If the animals knew, where a cache could be!
He knew 34 02 and even 83 23,
But for the rest of the coords, he’d have to plea!

He spied a friend, and checked in with him.
But a GROWL and a CHIRP was all he got
And then faster than any other land animal, away he shot!

Next was a friend, he looked like a cow, but with giant horns.
When asked about the cache, he let out a simple, loud BELLOW!
Well, good day to you, my fair fellow!!

There must be more, with who else could he confer?
When he spied a tiny fellow, WHISTLING and throwing dirt and wood
Making tongue-twisters wonder how much he would if he could!

Feeling he had his way north,
He found a tiny friend, from a nap who had just woke
When asked for some help, responded with a CROAK!

Then in the field, he spied a good lead.
He made his way over, careful to avoid the poo,
His answer was simple, just a big loud MOO!

With just one to go, he spied another friend
Knowing he was almost done, he let out a guffaw
And for the final clue, he was told HEE-HAW!!

Now, he felt he had enough
From talking to his friends, he began to realize
He had more than enough to find his prize!!
