The Landsman Kill, a tributary of the Hudson River, starts northeast of the Village of Rhinebeck and roughly follows Route 308 to the west, crossing Route 9 and flowing south to Vandenburg Cove and the Hudson River.  Grasmere, a national historic district and estate, is located along the Kill. The property that became Grasmere was originally part of a patent granted to Colonel Henry Beekman.  Grasmere contained a gristmill built along the Kill. (source: Wikipedia)
