About Ground Zero:
The Clarenford Park is a small area designed for resting and playing, it offers a view of the I-66.
Clarenford is a section of Waverly Hills neighbourhood, bounded by Washington Boulevard, Glebe Road, and 15th and Utah Streets.
This park used to be known as the “N. 13th St. & N. Vermont St. Park” and was renamed “Clarenford Station Park” in 2004. The name is historically and geographically significant due to the site’s relationship to the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Railroad line. Attached is an old map of Arlington that shows the neighbourhoods and the railroad - note it's not on scale and NESW don't align, but I was able to trace the depicted spots with current online maps.
The geocache:
This shouldn't be too difficult - take a walk, grab a book, sit down to eat your lunch and grab the cache, find out about history of Arlington.
Please, replace as found to prevent muggling.
BYOP.
Happy caching! :)
