Ostrožská Nová Ves se rozprostírá v jihozápadní části okresu Uherského Hradiště,v rovinatém terénu nivy řeky Moravy v nadmořské výšce 182 m. Žije zde asi 3 500 obyvatel. Obec byla osídlena už v době kamenné, v lokalitě Padělky se nachází významné naleziště kamenných nástrojů, mamutích klů a kostí a také keramiky kultury volutové a malované. První zmínky o obci se datují k roku 1258, označována tehdy byla jako Dlouhá Ves.

Ostrožská Nová Ves liegt im südwestlichen Teil des Bezirks Uherské Hradiště, im flachen Gelände der Morava-Aue auf einer Höhe von 182 m. Hier leben etwa 3.500 Einwohner. Das Dorf war schon in der Steinzeit bewohnt, in dem Teil Padělky befindet sich eine bedeutende Fundstelle von Steinwerkzeugen, Mammutstoßzähnen und Knochen sowie Keramik der Voluten- und bemalten Kultur. Die erste Erwähnung des Dorfes stammt aus dem Jahr 1258, damals war es als Dlouhá Ves (Langes Dorf) bekannt.

Ostrožská Nová Ves is situated in the south-western part of the Uherské Hradiště district, in the flat terrain of the Morava River floodplain at an altitude of 182 m. About 3,500 inhabitants live here. The village was inhabited already in the Stone Age, in the locality of Padělky there is an important site of stone tools, mammoth tusks and bones and also pottery of the volute and painted culture. The first mention of the village dates back to 1258, it was then known as Dlouhá Ves (Long Village).
