Luling, TX, has a long love affair with watermelons, and this art installation pays tribute to it. The last weekend in June is reserved for The Watermelon Thump, a local festival honoring Luling's past, present, and future. Activities include a parade, seed spitting contest, food, music, etc. Oil has also played an important part in the economy here, you may recognize the smell (locals call it the smell of money), and the same artist has a much larger piece on exhibit across the railroad tracks. Check it out if you have a few minutes.
Nearby there is a famous BBQ place, The Luling Oil Museum, shops, and various historical markers. Take a little stroll, relax, and stretch your legs.
This is a small container with a log only, with no room for items to trade. Please BYOP.
