After a very long year of not being able to have local events we are finally joining up with out friends at Cowan Lake State Park for a long overdue CITO! This one will be more than just a trash pickup in some areas as many unwanted items are around the lake and can only be removed using watercraft and lots of people power!
Cowan Lake will provide use of several canoes to help with cleaning up some larger items that have made it's way into the water and will need to be removed. If you are physcally able to help retireve tires, barrels and other debris from the lake using a canoe please let us know so these accomodations can be setup. We will have availablity for up to 14 to use the watercraft to retireve items.
Others will be able to help out around the edge of the lake via the land/trails to remove trash and other items.
We will be starting at the campground area beach coordinates at 9:00 am with waiver signing requested by the state park and then final location assignments for everyone. We will have trash bags and rubber gloves for those who would like them as well as sanitizer when finished.
We will finish the event campground shelter at the given coordinates at noon for anyone who would like a snack or refreshments.
Please check back as the date approaches for any updates as it relates to the event and any updates comcerning COVID-19 protocol as well.
Please bring any trash grabbers and gloves if you prefer to use your own.
The rain date for this event will be Sunday June 13.
