In the mid-twentieth century the Town of Norwood acquired various tracts of land on Pleasant Street, much of it known locally as Hennessey Field, for use as a playground, park, and possible future school site. I am happy to say that to date these 7.55 acres have remained open space with well-maintained walking trails through deciduous woods. The park serves as a green oasis for the surrounding neighborhood. Several types of trees and undergrowth can be seen, including blueberries and red maples. Pets are welcomed but must remain on leash. It's a relaxing and friendly (friendly? yes friendly) parcel of land to meander through. It surprises me how often I spot a deer in this small park. I always enjoy walking through it. and hope others do too.
Cache is small, but just large enough to include a token for the FTF and a very small doodad or two. Bring your own pencil. A short bushwhack. Please refrain from posting pictures or details that spoil the thrill of discovery for others. Enjoy!
