At this lookout you have clear views of King George Sound, Oyster Harbour and Green Island. You can read about Wateri (Green Island) myth. Green Island was named by George Vancouver who also named Oyster Harbour where there where numerous oysters when he visited the area in 1791. When Albany was settled in 1826 the colony was looking for somewhere to grow plants and vegetable. Green Island was selected as feral animals where unable to reach this island and a full time gardener was placed on this island to start a vegie patch which was completed by 1830. There is no sign now of any garden and the land has become barron except for the numerous birds who inhabit the island to use it as a breeding ground especially our local pelicans. From the lookout you can walk down the stairs to a secluded picnic area. The cache is in a comourflaged container.
