Lo Sferisterio di Macerata è un teatro all'aperto situato nel centro storico di Macerata. E’ un'arena semicircolare originariamente destinata al gioco del pallone col bracciale, molto in voga nel centro Italia nel XIX secolo, e successivamente riadattata a location per concerti e teatro d'opera.
La sua acustica è definita perfetta da cantanti e direttori d'orchestra. L'edificio è stato progettato nel 1829 dall'architetto neoclassico Ireneo Aleandri. Ha una capienza massima di circa 2500 posti e dal 1967 è noto per la stagione lirica estiva, che dal 2012 prende il nome di "Macerata Opera Festival".

The “Sferisterio” of Macerata is an open-air theatre situated in the historic centre of the city. It is a semi-circular arena originally intended for the game of the ball with the bracelet, extremely popular in central Italy in the XIX century, and subsequently adapted as a location for concerts and opera representations. Its acoustics is defined as perfect by singers and conductors. The building was designed in 1829 by the Neoclassical architect Ireneo Aleandri. It has a maximum capacity of about 2,500 seats and since 1967 it is known for the summer opera season, which has taken the name of "Macerata Opera Festival" since 2012.
