Geocache Description:

Borasjön är en sjö i Laxå kommun.

Sjön har en area på 3,86 kvadratkilometer och ligger 107 meter över havet.

Vid provfiske har abborre, gers, gädda och mört fångats.

Sjön hette fram till mitten av 1940-talet Bodarnesjön.

Vid sjöns norra ända byggde Antonitbröderna på 1400-talet Ramundeboda kloster.

Om du korsar E20 så går det en väg på andra sidan fram till ruinerna från en klosterkyrkogrund, en kalkugn och ett förrådshus.

Vid Borasjön och landskapsgränsen Västergötland/Närke har sedan 1000 år funnits en rastplats för resande.

Troligen inte handikapp vänlig vintertid.

Lake Borasjön is a lake in Laxå municipality.

The lake has an area of 3.86 square kilometers and is 107 meters above sea level.

During trial fishing, perch, geese, pike and roach have been caught in the lake.

Until the middle of the 1940s, the lake was called Bodarnesjön.

At the northern end of the lake, the Antonite brothers built a Ramundeboda monastery in the 15th century.

If you cross the E20, there is a road to the ruins from a monastery church grounds, a lime kiln and a storage house.

At Borasjön and the Västergötland / Närke landscape border, there has been a rest area for travelers for 1000 years.

Probably not handicap friendly in winter.
