While you won't find gold medals here, you will find a hero who is deserving of one. The location of this cache is hard to miss. In the Uwharrie, there are lots of tress...needless to say when I saw this site...I definately checked my brakes. It is not what you would expect to see in the middle of a forest! Metal metal everywhere! I parked and started chatting with the land owners immediately asking if they knew what geocaching was, of course. If anywhere needed a geocache, it was here! Luckily they knew what it was and to boot, the daughter of the stores' owners is an active duty marine! I decided right there to place a cache in her honor. She comes home on 5/19/21. Her mom told me she is really into geocaching, so we have a fellow geocacher who also serves to protect our fine country! Awesome!
Last but not least! PLEASE, respect the land owners privacy, whom did give permission to break ground for the cache, and ONLY VISIT the cache between 10am and 9pm; additionally please RESPECT the art that is everywhere here and act like civilized cachers! Thank you so much!
