In Flintys Shadow Traditional Cache

We are the current managers of the Flin  Flon Campground and have been since 2009. One warm sunny day in early May 2021 we joined two retirees enjoying a coffee and visit at one of our camp tables. After some conversation we discovered that we were all geocachers. Our handle is Mickeydoodle57 and the other two were freebill and ken998. A couple of years ago in 2019 we stumbled upon a geocache hidden near one of our campsites but could not find it on the geocaching website. We brought it to the table to show freebill and Ken998. The log book inside did not offer much help. Freebill offered to research it and did so through a travel bug found in the cache that had been activated and belonged to wildlifedoc of Brookings South Dakota home of SDSU (South Dakota State University). They have an international travel program and in August of 2008 one of these groups of students (geocaching handle SDSU Travel Abroad) led by wildlifedoc (professor??) were making their way to Churchill MB and made a stop here in Flin Flon. They prepared and hid a geocache here and attempted to have it published after they returned to Brookings SD. Sadly it could not be published as it was too close to Barclay’s Express hid here in 2005. It was then abandoned. Since we had discovered it and it had never been published and was abandoned for close to 13 years freebill suggested that we assume ownership and have it published.
