This cache is placed near Bilger’s Rocks, an exposed sandstone rock formation created during the Carboniferous Period that is part of the Homewood Formation of the Pottsville Group. The Homewood Sandstone has an age range of approximately 316-220 million years old, predating the breakup of the ancient supercontinent known as Pangaea. The area is home to spectacular fall foliage, which drivers enjoy while touring the backroads of the county. Motorists should be aware that wet leaves, fog, sun glare, and frost are a few driving hazards they may encounter in the fall.
