Stevens Lake is a 62 acre impoundment owned by the Commonwealth of PA, and managed by the PFBC. All boats used on the lake must have a valid PA boat launch permit from the PFBC or DNCR.
According to the PFBC website, Stevens Lake was formerly called Mud Pond. Why did the name change? Who is Steven(s)? Where did all the mud go? I don't know, and I'll be honest, it is killing me. So, until some learned scholar can dig up the backstory here, I am making an executive decision to believe that this body of water was renamed in honor of music legend Cat Stevens. There, it's settled.
The posted coordinates are a nice place to paddle to, but you won't find a cache there. Be sure to solve the below puzzle by demonstrating your knowledge of the order of the studio albums released by this lake's namesake, which, again, is now officially Cat Stevens.
