Schodack Island Park has one large boat launch on the Hudson side and a kayak launch dock on the Schodack Creek side. When you are done with the trails, take to the water and explore the shoreline some more! Make sure to check the tides or ask a Park Ranger. The SS Sara-Cap will show you that unfortunate things can happen if you are not careful when the tide goes out. This one is best found at least 1 hour before or after high tide. Watch your footing.
Note: closest official parking is at the Park Office half a mile South of the cache. However, there is room to pull off safely on either side of the road near the cache which is allowed for a quick park and grab.
