References You Definitely Won’t Understand
Ok this is another one that some of you might understand. But I’m betting that the target audiences of geocaching and video games don’t have a lot of overlap so most of you won’t recognize this immediately. These concepts aren’t something that I speak about or reference aloud, but they’re the most common references I make in day to day life. In fact, if we’ve ever met (at a geocaching event or otherwise) you’ve probably seen the symbols for paragon and renegade. I have bumper stickers of their symbols on the back window of my car, paragon in blue on the left and renegade in red on the right.
But now you’re wondering what I’m even talking about so I’ll go ahead and explain the concepts. Paragon can be summarized as “acting like a good guy.” Paragon actions are things like trying to talk down an argument, convincing others not to sacrifice unduly, and generally being kind to get your way. Renegade can be summarized as “acting like a bad guy.” Renegade actions are things like intimidating others to get information, killing a bad guy who isn’t a present threat, and generally being ruthless to get your way.
In the video game series this comes from, you are always the good guy, but you can choose if you’re the good guy who can talk the enemies into surrendering peacefully or the good guy who uses his license to kill liberally. The former usually feels better, but the latter is so much more fun sometimes. The puzzle question is this: What is the video game series that features Paragon and Renegade choices?
There is nothing at the posted coordinates and it would be dangerous for you to stop there so don’t. You must solve the puzzle to receive the proper coordinates. This cache will require at least one special tool, which one will be apparent at the location. Please place it back exactly as you found it so the next cacher can have the same fun. If the cache appears to be missing DO NOT replace it yourself, write a note or log a DNF or send me a personal message so I can take care of it.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
