For your protection and the protection of others, please use gloves and/or hand sanitizer before and after handling each cache.

This Cache is placed as part of the 2021 Taconic Region Geocaching Challenge. Please see FA1 Swampside for more information.  This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache.  Use this stamp to mark your passport.  This stamp is NOT a trade item. 

This cache is a mystery cache that is not located at the posted coordinates which are the same as the trailhead. To find this cache you will need to visit six bridges along the School Mountain Road trail and gather a piece of information from each. The coordinates of the bridges are provided as additional waypoints. The final is located at

The values for the letters ABCDEF can be obtained as follows:

Bridge 1 – A = # of letters in Cadet Sophia’s last name – 8

Bridge 2 – B = # of letters in Cadet Grant’s last name

Bridge 3 – C = # of letters in Cadet Michael’s last name

Bridge 4 – D = # of metal studs on one of the four endposts

Bridge 5 – E = # of uprights on one side of the bridge + 1

Bridge 6 – F = # of red and white trail markers on the south side of the bridge

The sum of A-F should be 35.

 

Park at the Hubbard Lodge parking area off Route 9. The parking for the cache is along both sides of the road leading to Hubbard Lodge. Please obey the no parking signs and do not block the private driveways. We encountered significant GPS bounce when placing these caches so if you find the coordinates to be significantly in error, please include updated coordinates in your log.
