My continuing annual series of caches placed near one my research plots. The PD stands for Product Development, this plot is one of 4 fields I have in the Slater area and each contains about ten thousand experimental corn hybrids, all in 2 row plots 22' long.
The wooden post just east of the cache is for mounting our GPS base station to track the planter and each individual seed, the spot is monumented with a Trimble SPS585 GPS device with accuracy of a few centimeters. It cost a bit more than your hand held. Maybe I should have used it to collect the waypoint of the cache.
the cache is not on the wooden post or bolt on top - please do not tamper with this false beacon.
Across the road to the west is a wind turbine where a worker lost his life during it's construction.
