I have not been able to find very much information on this school. Something to note is that this site was very late in being formed, that is 1938. Most school districts in the Foothills County area had been formed some 20-30 yers earlier. Why was this one so late being formed? The answer is that there was not a need for a school prior to the Turner Valley oil boom. This school was built for the students of the Turner Valley oilfield workers. It was simply too far for the students to go to Turner Valley, especially for the older students grade 8 and beyond. The Foothills County Historical Committee names this school as South Turner Valley High School. Also note that it operated until the late 50's, which is again beyond the time of school consolidation. Research into the local history book Tales and Trails, A History of Longview and Surounding Area, makes no mention of this school and I have found no research as of yet to determine why.
