This Cache is placed as part of the 2021 New York State Park Central Region Geocache Challenge. There are approximately 70 geocaches hidden within 20 state parks and historic sites in this parks region. The first 100 people to find 45 or more caches will receive a special geocache challenge coin. If you are interested in taking up the challenge, you can pick up a geocache passport at any of the participating parks and sites or download it at www.nysparks.com
NYS Parks Saratoga - Capital region and the Taconic region will be hosting a similar challenge!! 10 caches found in the Sara-Cap and/or Taconic region Challenge can be used toward the Central Challenge.

This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to mark your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item. Some of the items in the cache are park souvenirs and do not need to be replaced with a trade item.
One of three Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park Challenge Caches. This one is hidden near White Birch Pond. There is a small parking area quite near the pond. Please take a SWAG item if you wish. There is no need to trade.
This SWAG item can be used in the nearby village of Cooperstown. Cooperstown has an edifice (building) which commemorates people who played a game not anything at all like cricket. Take it to the building and enter a long narrow hallway lined with plagues, I mean plaques. (Don’t go to the plague room, it’s dreadful.) If you then use your piece of SWAG in a loud manner two things will happen. You will disturb the ghost of Ty Cobb who will show up and spike your ankle with his sharpened cleats. (A favorite trick of his while sliding into the bases, especially against rookie players. He was not know as a nice competitor.) The second thing is you will get a 25% off coupon to use in the store near the long hallway covered with plaques. Enjoy your visit.
