Nikšić Tourist Spots #6:  Vučje

Nikšić Tourist Spots:  I have been visiting Montenegro's second city, Nikšić, since 2001. I love the city and love the people and there are some amazing spots in the city that make this an amazing location for a couple of days tourism and exploration that are well off the beaten track. This series will help you explore some of these places!

Vučje

The Ski Center Vučje is a great destination for summer and winter leisure and recreation.  Skiing, hiking and biking are available or just hang out and enjoy the mountain air at the restaurant.  About 20km (and over 700m ascent) from Niksić, unless you are a strong cyclist you will need a car to get up here!  It has personal meaning for me because my wife and I met each other here in July 2001!

To the cache...

You can park at the ski center and then hike up the road/trail for about 1.5km.  As you emerge onto open fields leave the trail to the right and head for the rocky summit (not the ski lift summit).  Once at the summit there is a spoiler photo if needed.

(This cache will be almost impossible in winter when there is significant snowfall at the summit.)

For FTF there is a little 'wolf' trackable in honour of the etymology of the word Vučje (TB8VA7T).  Please help him/her complete its mission!
