Cwmbelan is a pretty hamlet two miles from the market town of Llanidloes. Previously boasting two pubs, two chapels, a Post Office, a village school, a smithy, and a flannel mill, these days it is a much quieter place, bypassed by the A470. The Gynwydd stream flows through the hamlet, its waters eventually joining the River Severn.
The cache is a small camouflage flask with space for swappables and trackables. It was placed by a local Girl Guide as part of her Geocaching badge.
