This short multi-point cache which will lead you to 2 Conservation Areas near Peterborough, Ontario.
Come pay your respects to 'The Last Pioneer'...
Waypoint 1: Using waypoint 1 above (N44 16.416 W78 10.275) you will find a plaque. On the plaque is a date. Using this 4 digit number calculate the coordinates to the next waypoint by doing the following:
North: Using only the last 3 digits of the year on the plaque, subtract 320 (i.e. where year=Nxyz calculate AAA=((xyz)-320)). Use this number to get your new North coordinate (N44 16.AAA).
West: Again, using only the last 3 digits of the year on the plaque, subtract 550 (i.e. where year=Nxyz calculate BBB=((xyz)-550)). Use this number to get your new North coordinate (W78 10.BBB).
Together these results will yield the coords of Waypoint 2 (sub for N44 16.AAA W78 10.BBB).
Waypoint 2: At this location is another plaque with a date (READ the date carefully and remember, Columbus didn't discover America until 1492). Using this 4 digit number calculate the coordinates to the next waypoint by doing the following:
North: Using only the last 3 digits of the year on this plaque, subtract 407 (i.e. where year=Nxyz calculate CCC=((xyz)-407)). Use this number to get your new North coordinate (N44 17.CCC).
West: Again, using only the last 3 digits of the year on the plaque, subtract 708 (i.e. where year=Nxyz calculate DDD=((xyz)-708)). Use this number to get your new North coordinate (W78 10.DDD).
This result will yield the coords of Waypoint 3 - (N44 17.CCC W78 10.DDD).
This is where the cache is hidden.
From here you may either walk or drive to the begin your hike to the cache location. If you walk, you're looking at approximately 2.5km to the cache, if you drive, you'll have somewhere between 320-750m (depending on where you park) - yes, that was a hint folks.
BEWARE: The Last Pioneer guards the cache - please take lots of pics and post them here with your 'Found it!' log. Funny strange or funny haha, post them all.

The Last Pioneer cache is in a small, black, plastic toolbox with a bungee cord wrapped around it. Please be sure to re-wrap the bungee cord and carefully place it back where you found it (away from curious eyes).
Enjoy the hunt and enjoy your day!!

NOTES:
- Great cache for all ages. Lots to see and do for the kids.
- The area is great for a family picnic. There is a place to swim and fish, and there are even some outdoor BBQs provided.
- N44 17.348 W78 10.239 - Check out the remains of what appears to be an old 'Participation' excercise structure. Explore the area and let us know what else you find.
- Great cache for a night-time raid. I originally staked this entire cache out in the dark, so break out the head lamps and flashlights!!
- Winter friendly.
