Geocache Description:

There is reason to believe that there has been a building on top of the hill here for a long time. There are also signs to show that the hillsides were inhabited during the time of famous philosopher Dimosthenis (384-322 BC) who was a local! The current church was probably built around 1846, if not earlier, and was probably previously either a different church of the same name or a watchtower. Word of mouth suggests the previous church definitely did exist because people who lived in the area at the time (during the Turkish Occupation) were young and were able to share their knowledge later in life; the current church was probably built by someone of the name Papakonstantinou.

While there isn’t much more information about the church online, it’s a cute little church and the hill is a great view point for Paiania and this side of Immito in general. The road up the hill is good for driving up and there’s enough space for parking, as well as a taverna called 'O Kostas' on the road up if you're interested! There's also a shaded seating/picnic area.

The cache itself is a small transparent tube, big enough to fit small trinkets and possibly smaller trackables (pencil included).
