ST MICHAEL & ALL ANGELS, BASSINGHAM
St Michael & All Angels, Bassingham is a Grade II* listed building, having achieved the status on 23 August 1967.
The building was constructed in stages during the C11th, C12th, C13th and C15th with final additions in 1782 by Thomas Bell before the whole building was restored in 1860 by J, H. Hakewill.
The church is made up of a west tower, nave with north and south aisles, south porch, chancel and a north chantry chapel which is now the vestry. The tower was totally rebuilt in 1782.
The octagonal font is C15th with quatrefoils. The two commandment boards in the tower are C18th. The C19th pulpit ha a single dated panel of 1674. The stained glass east window is signed F X Zettler of Munich 1900.
